My Havobators are going crasy. I have chicks poults and ducks everywhere. Here is a few that hatched this weekend with one older poult to teach them to eat. I have about two dozen peeping. I have pictures up when they get here.
First hatched last night at about 11.30 and the others gradually kept coming until about 9 this morning. We have nine hatched out of 11 eggs that made it to lockdown. The two remaining have pips and are still in the incubator. I'm now worried that I could have shrink wrapped them by opening the incubator but the little guys had actually drawn blood on the smallest poult so I figured I had to get them out of there before they killed him! Now they've got food and water and entertainment, they've backed off a bit. I need to now go in search of a proper heat lamp because the one I've got isn't heating up the brooder box I had planned so it's not going to be long before they're fighting due to overcrowding again.
I was out yesterday in the chicken yard and I took some pics of the turkey poults. The larger poults are 9 - 10 weeks old and the smaller poults are about 6 weeks old. Here ya go.
