Chirping
As long as they have grit available, they could try veggies and insects. Just make sure it is in small amounts and small enough for them to swallow.

Gave my chicas a sand box to play in today and they're not too sure what to think yet but are getting braver. One will walk onto it and another will come push the first one in haha. Man these little chicks are entertaining. We had to put one of our dogs to sleep last night and so I've been watching these little guys most of the morning to cheer me up. They're still scared of me, like they take food out of my hands but get all twitchy when I first put it in- I'm hoping now that they've got sand to use as grit I can start winning their love through treats. They're 1 1/2 weeks old, is that too young for some small amount of veggies and/or tiny crickets?
Awwwww, so cute! I wanted to get some rainbows, but they didn't have any at my feed store.
@Twiggs Are these rainbow rangers or did you get the rainbow layer pack? Two very different things...
I'm new to the breed, but they were labeled Rainbow Chickens, as dual purpose. Ordered from Hoover's.
This right here tells me you have Easter Eggers, commonly mislabeled Ameraucana or Americana. It means you can't show them and they may surprise you with their adult coloring but EEs are terrific backyard birds!
