Never visit feed store when they've got chicks! Couldn't stand to leave this little gray frizzle behind so she got 9 friends before I made my escape.

Aww the are adorable! Yeah, Anytime I go to a feed store I end up getting either ducks or chicks

First timer here as well. I'm afraid this is going to get very very addicting. And I'm falling in love with the chick needing extra attention and butt soaks. Praying she pulls through.

From research in here I'm pretty sure she has vent gleet. It's a Cochin. She was pretty picked on at her last place. I took her when we got some araucanas and ee because I felt so sorry for her. Then that same evening we found white crust all over her bottom. This was Sunday. She eats drinks and poops pretty formed with white on it. Sounds normal too from what I've read. Soaking in ACV each night and added to the water supply. Mixing probiotics with cooled scrambled eggs. (Started this yesterday). The amount of white seems to be getting lesss but she's needed cleaned everyday for sure. Redness is gone. Her tummy is definitely less bloated so I see improvement and don't think there is any secondary infection. Should I soak her a time or two after the white crust seems to be gone for safe guard? I think I'm doing everything I should. It's harder to know normal chic behavior since its new but I'm comparing her to all the others and she seems just as happy! And this group definitely isn't picking on her yet. Thankful for her long wing feathers because her butt is bare!

Oh and this morning I finally let the kids name her. I had been holding off just to see..... they appropriately chose "Fancy"
