Well I can't really explain the wheaten genetics myself, I'm just sayin they look wheaten colored with some barring, I guess you should get some that are that color from a Barred roo X Wheaten hen, would be my best guess there.

What breed(s) are those chicks, looks like you got some pure Barreds and some sexlink roos ?

Ohhhhh you have such a good eye! Yes some are pure BRs and the others im not sure....

I was hoping the werent all roos.... they look like BRs but they came from a "mutt" pen... so who knows... you think they are sexlinks?? I guess ill have to take pics tomorrow since they are 6 weeks old and get some opinions

Yep the ones like the second an last pics look pure barred(and sorry, but I'd say roo on them too, based on the smoky color on the backs, the third one looks like he would definitely be a sexlink roo, and the others I'm not really sure, probably just mixes like you said. But yeah, get some more pics and we may be able to tell better.

You know i have told people i can sex my OEGB's couple days after they hatch the reaction is always the same "yea Right

"

After eight years of seeing these little ones hatch i sure can The roo's will have a small comb and the hens will be slick headed.
I never worry about the sex with OEGB's a roo can be just as valuable as a hen so no matter what hatches it's all good.

Yep, it takes a while to get a trained eye, but I can sex Barred Rocks as dayolds with great accuracy because barring itself is sexlinked.

HA!
thought I was the only one who got laughed at when I told people that. D'anvers and o.e.'s, it's about the same, they have a comb spot, or nothing.
Usually get told SURE!!!!
Okay buddy!

Glad to see I'm not the only one

Here is Rusty...he's a Barred Crele "Cuckoo SOMETHING". lol.. "cuckoo" being the best word.

he is a really good flock keeper! Loves his ladies and never attacks me unless
I am trying to pet him or pick him up.. then he just tries to peck.
Once I have him...he behaves.
