Looking for a buddy for my cat. Is it better to get a kitten or grown cat? If a grown cat, are there ways to tell before bringing him/her home if the two will get along?

It really depends on the personality of your cat you have now. How would you describe the personality of your cat.

He likes to be around when anyone visits, as if he doesn't want to miss anything, and likes to be a part of what is going on. We purchased him at 9 months from a breeder, so he was with his siblings for that time. I imagine if another cat or kitten was brought home, that he would want to hang around out of curiosity.

I have 4 cats.

1 Netured 3 Year Old Male
1 Spayed 18 Year Old Female
And 2 Unspayed Some odd week old female kittens.

Thanks. Also, I'll keep the new kitten either with me, or in a separate bedroom when that's not possible, and always supervise around our current cat.
