Show off your FAIR birds here!

Fun fun! I can't wait! What are you entering??
Oh, I am not entering anything. Just going. My kids are much older now, but they used to be in 4-h when they were younger. They entered quite a few things in the exhibition hall and the animals they had were starter calves and goats.

These aren’t all the birds I will be entering next year since I have more but these are the only ones I have photographs from; 2 BBR Phoenixes: one cock (who’s still feathering out) and one hen, 2 Black Ameraucanas (rooster still hasn’t reached sexual maturity), 1 Fawn Silver Duckwing OEGB, one Blue Wheaten OEGB, and one Gold Duckwing OEGB. I plan on buying two silver and BBR Phoenix pullets later this month. My fair is in March/April so I still have plenty of time for all my birds to mature.

Your hen is beautiful! I’ve always been drawn to breeds that have a “wow factor” like Ameraucanas for their their blue eggs & beards, OEGB’s because of how tiny they are, and Phoenixes because of the long flowing tails but I’ve been following your thread closely over the last couple weeks and I’ver really been considering making the addition of a couple Partridge Rocks to my flock. Your birds are just beautiful.

Thanks! I love the roosters the most:

Those are beauties!

Thank you! I try to keep a small but varied flock that I split into trios— 3 OEGB’s, 3 Ameraucanas, 3 d’Uccles, and I currently have 2 Phoenixes but I’m planning on heading out and getting another hen— I’m afraid that if I add another breed to my small collection I’d feel like another rooster is necessary.

No kidding. I have 40 roosters at the moment but am downsizing drastically
