Show Off Your Games!

I am just starting out but wanted to mix a few of my game breeds with my layer breeds trying to spruce them up looks wise not really worrying about egg production or meet
That will help the plumage but may pose other problems as game fowl are not suitable yard fowl. Funny enough it does make for great consistent layers.

Hey there everybody. I've been looking for some Malay for a while, but I have not found any birds in my area. Is there anyone here who's going to be at the Ohio National this year? I plan on flying out to see it, and I'm hopeful I may be able to purchase a young or adult pair, any color. Preferably from an NPIP flock, since that will make the documentation required for entry into my home state much simpler.

I just posted this on the Malay thread, posting here as well since this thread seems to have more people.

does anyone know what you can get when you mix a buff Orpingtons with black tail Japanese?

generally, the "rule" is, breed type to type. at least that is to my understanding

what's that they say, "breed the best to the best and hope for the best".

I think a male orp would crush the jap hen, and, I don't know if a male jap bantam could top an orpington hen successfully. plucking the feathers from around her vent might/would help.

your birds, feed, money and time, have fun whatever you do

a good jap batam is very "game" in personality so they will couple anything they know to be female with feathers and some they may not be sure about that can't stop them, the little beast that they can be. I know a guy that bred a super game line of langshan and have come close to replicating the Satsumadori(my little experiment

) and will nail it as soon as I get the missing link from a farm in the Bay Area. So let's see how it works out for him, it may be a pleasant surprise.

These are not my birds there off circle l farms website... These are both white claret and from what I read they can have white or yellow legs....@kingcocker @doubleleft
it's not impossible for a claret to have yellow legs because genetic pop out's can happen on rare occasion and then bred for ... but most apt over all these years something was added to get the yellow leg . Originally Col. Madigan's clarets (white & red) came with white legs black spurs)
