Still young...

A little off topic of gamefowl, but it's a interesting thing (to me) that I've noticed. When you look at Silkies, you can find that they pretty often have blue earlobes. And if you look at Leghorns, usually white, they will have yellow earlobes and occasionally even a neon green coloration. Anyone have an explanation to that? They're the only two breeds I can think of that I have ever seen that on.

They are doing real good. I did lose one pullet.

She got impacted crop while I was away and my wife wasn't able to get her cleared up. But the other five pullets and four stags are doing really good. They're 4 1/2 moths old and starting to fill out. One of the stags is crowing, if that what you want to call that pathetic sound he makes!

I haven't taken any pictures lately so I'll try to get some tomorrow.

As promised my young Asil pics.

All you oriental game experts out there, please give me your honest opinions. I'd like to know if they are as nice as I think they are. I've not raised any orientals before. So I don't want to get a false sense of confidence about these.

Oh by the way. This is the cock that was living in the woods by my new house. I really have no use for him, so if any one is interested let me know. I'm not tellin him where to go but he can't stay here!

He's definitely mostly if not all brown red. I would guess his age at around 1-1/2 to 2 years. Really not bad to handle either.

Chief,
The Asil are looking real good. How old are they know?
The Stag in the 4th picture is really nice...
