Backup assertion that gamefowl are originals. BS written by cocker without rigerous digging in dirt / science to back it up is not acceptable. Original works often cited concerning aseels being oldest existing breed does not preclude food / fiber breeds existing prior. Especially when production characteristics of games in general and Aseel in particular are so poor. If any assumptions to b made, jungle fowl were used for food first unless evidence shown otherwise.
questions about greenfire farms pumkin hulseys. are they purebred? is it worth it? $100 for a pair plus $60 for shipping. or should i get chicks which are about $10 each and i think u have to buy 12 plus $30 for shipping? do you have to buy 12? anyone know where else i can get day old game chicks or juvenile pairs for less than $150 any sort of game would be nice but preferably pumkin hulseys.....i LOVE the look of that breed!...and the NAME! lol
some person here on BYC said he would give me free eggs when his chickens started laying but no luck so far...
im not sure? i have bantams and chckens for eggs but want to breed games too and alot of people say that pumpkin hulseys are one of the gamest (not sure if thats a word lol) breeds around. plus i love their color! and theyre name of course!
Not trying to hurt feelings or be a smarty But They are infact Not game as they should be but sell because of "Looks" . The Hulseys/Pumpkins were known for walking away from down cocks since the beggining . This has been talked about in past messages

The gameness attribute is going to require that you have ability to separate males from each other permanently once they reach adulthood. The relative gameness is a matter of intepretation and often subject to vested interest of someone trying to say their line is better than someone elses. Generally speaking games are of better coloration, feathering and outright physical ability than non-game breeds. I think they are hands down more intelligent than all non-game breeds and give the different jungle fowl species a run for their money.
If serious, then look for folks in your area that you can talk to before diving into games. They can give you a more detailed heads-up on what to expect if your are to proceede.
If you are looking for the looks without all the aggression then consider red jungle fowl. They got the looks and run a bit smaller.
