Show Off Your Games!

Yes they're bantam (my modern) very rare around here in Tennessee, i lucked up and bought them at an auction, for $6 each ! They're eggs sell on Ebay for $60 for 6 eggs.....so I'm pretty happy with em, modern does come in standard size

But even the standard size....is not (game) to me, I've heard of people cross breeding them for battle but, i don't know anybody thats had any luck with it. I've not seen any (gamey) modern yet, but I'm sure somebody has sum somewhere.

Hey folks, I just joined, and I want to say it is great seeing all of the American games on here. I've just lately become interested in games, have had a lot of different standard chicken breeds. We do a lot of hatching and brooding but I have decided I want to try to preserve a pure strain of American Game. Right now I have some OEG biddies that I'm starting out with to get my pen set-up figured out, eventually I would like to get some Morgan Whitehackles. It is a shame such smart and beautiful birds get such a bad rap, that is why I want some, to prove that they have their place with chicken fanciers. I would of course keep them pure and true to original form. Might even do some showing, I guess if I get a pink legged strain I could call them spangle OEGs, or just show in the any other category or whatever they call it.
It is too bad someone couldn't figure out some type of alternative sporting event to showcase the athletic talents of these birds. People have competitive rabbit jumping events, so I'm sure someone could come up with something at least that legitimate. Chicken pull, tri-athalon, rooster iditarod or something. Otherwise we will end up with something with a ridiculously broad breast that walks funny that looks like an artists rendition of what a performance-bred chicken is supposed to look like.
Thanks for the pics and info and keep it coming.

nah not yet. my daughter received some layers for her 5th birthday and, ole dad has the responsibility of takin care of them. Im interested in getting some gamefowl, just gotta get the ole lady on board. She dont want anything fightin in the yard. I already have a couple of Pit Bulls that are highly animal aggressive. They killed 2 of my goats and now she is a lil leary of some more aggressive animals. So... Ive been doin a little research while in the process of talkin her into it. Ill get me a few before too long im sure. Hell, I take care of all the animals any **** way.
