Show Off Your Games!

Still could be crossed with game...only from the looks of the chicks but there is no game hen that lays large brown eggs. But doesn't mean the father wasn't game. All game hens lay white or tan colored eggs.....keep digging for more info, wish ya luck !

Yeah I know the "brown" eggs would indicate some other breed All of our AG's lay white or tan eggs. They do look like some kind of game but are so people friendly :)

anytime you want "people friendly" animals (and chickens) skip their feedings for a few days(not recommended by me but seen it happen) . Didn't want to bring that up but they look like their pickins has been mighty slim before you got them .
I won't go any further on that subject but i think you can see the handwriting on the wall .

My Guess , they look to be roundhead & claret cross but could be crosses of several varieties ... like butcher , whitehackle , kelso , radio and on . All could fit the bill .
And they could be pure ............

Haha, people friendly games are common round these parts. The beaks are long, but I've seen them that way before. They could be pure, but you will never know 100%, just by looking, if they are or not, unless you go get some expensive testing done! As they mature, keep us updated.
As far as taming your birds, you don't have to withhold feed if you don't want to, just start feeding once a day. They will mob you come that time each day, eventually. It's not that they're starving, you give them all they need, but chickens are beggars if there ever was one...and gluttons.

Never ever withhold feeding from your chickens, if you wanna make your chickens pets, pick em up and feed them by hand....make them eat out of you're hand, grass, mash potatoes, tomatoes, bananas, etc..... If you starve a chicken it causes the chicken to stay on point! And u don't want a chicken to be on point unless you plan on fighting.....too much of pointing causes cannibalism! Chickens are natural omnivores, they will eat each other lol
