New Rooster...

My brother found this rooster sleeping in his friend's garage.... Nobody knows where it came from!! So I adopted him because I am Chicken Obsessed.

His legs are a little short in my opinion. Green legs with a hint of yellow. Willow legs? He is not very tough yet, he ran for his life when exposed to another rooster. Doesnt know how to act around hens either, and is very unsure of himself... I think he was caged most of his life then someone let him go in the wilderness, till he found his way to a warm garage. Needless to say I think someone culled him and I think I will too.

he's beautiful ..... sometimes they become manhacked and will run from another rooster .... but with handling and good quarters plus food & water you might be surprised in a few weeks or so .

Do game chicks usually come darker if rooster and lighter if hen? Or reverse? I'm trying to figure which is which. The one in picture above is lighter and I have some with darker heads also?

Gamefowl can be sex linked as chicks, but all families of them are not. It depends on the family you are raising. For the most part, most that I see are not and the only way to know if yours are is to breed a lot of them and see if it holds true. I would almost bet that there will always be one to hatch out that counters your theory.
