We still haven't figured out what type that he is. But he is just the most wonderful little man in the world. He has made it through a lot in the past month of his life and yet he is still going and going. He is getting a new cage today and him and Brownie will be where there is more green grass. I am sure that will make him happy over the next couple of weeks, until when he can get out and walk better. He must be feeling better though, because yesterdays egg from Brownie was fertile, so he must be doing his breeding when I am not watching or not here. Bad leg and all.
If you get some more pictures we might be able to indentify which breed (or mix of breeds) he might be. Close up side view works best, so we can see shoulders/wing, saddle feathers, hackle and leg color.

I am going to try later today to get a few photos of him close up and see if that will help. he is just so pretty, I loved it when he was feeling good and he would spread his tail out it looked like a peacock. That was when my Delaware hens would go lay close to the fence and stare at him purring to him. I can see why.

Yes! That's it. Do you know anything of that pullet's / hen's background. I am trying to find the name for the phenotype. I had some folks call it Wheaton which does not look like any version of Wheaton I recall.
Yeah she is a hen... around 3 years now. She is really small, compared to the rest of my hens. I dont typically breed her but I kept her because she was incubator raised and my daughters love her.

The mother was a pure white spanish game hen with blue legs... The father was an American Game (one-eyed Franky) and was a typical black breasted red with willow/green legs. Someone gave me the father as gift and I suspect he was a cross. I dont have any pictures of him at work but I may be able to find some on my old computer when I get home.

This is her full brother - Franky Black.

Well we take a step back, then we do not know how her color-type came to be. Base on what you describe she is likely heterozygous at multiple loci and may come to looks through very different mechanisms than mine do. Mine are bred tight but color genetics not understood.

Here is little man a bit closer, and he actually used his wing as a crutch today so we got a lot of his wings. Even brownie tried to get in it, however it wasn't her best side.

You can see his bad leg in this one, and how he is now using his wing as a crutch.

If you need more to help identify what he is I have tons more that we took.

He likely something like Marek's disease. Get him away from other birds and watch those exposed to him. After dealing with that several times I have learned to euthanize sooner thAn later. He will never regain full mobility even if appears to walk normally.

I think she said it was from a fight and might have broken his leg....

Check his weight and muscle defitition, if he seems overly thin it may be disease.
