That's fair. I would avoid keeping them penned so long as that may impact soundness later. They need freedom of movement as soon as possible.

I used to raise pea fowl and I have a few inside pens to keep them in also its not uncommon to get below freezing temps in may and june

I also farm maggots for protien they love it! I cut the bottom of a 2 liter and hang it upside down over a food bowl and put a square of small hole wire mesh then meat as maggots grow they're instinct is to go down then they drop into the food bowl where chickens are patiently waiting for wiggling goodies lol

nice , his main tail and sickle should grow longer next molting.

When mine are molting I add dog food to their diet, if the pieces are too big for them to swallow

I get it soak in water.

My measure for their diet is a ¼ of their meal

When I had my Yokohama rooster his diet was ½ scratch½ dog food

His tail grew around 7 feet not bad for a hatchery bird

I'm looking for a ko shamo, siapan, malay, bantam asil or any nice looking grade cock to take these two girls the closest thing to a game cock I have is these two moderns so for now that's what I'm using.

Its raining and he's just been moved to this bigger run yesterday so keeps forgetting he has a coop to roost in not a tarp to get under lol so he's wet

His hens both have blue ribbons on them but I'm thinking about taking him to the standard jap phoenix and the red brown to the 3/4 OEG 1/4 aseel because I don't have a game cock also I have eggs in the incubator off the red browns and black berchin and maybe mix of both colors because I haven't finished the second coop yet so the are together
