Anybody seen delayed hennie feathering that does not show until bullstag starts molting into cock feathering? I have an F2 bullstag out a hen based line that was BBR until the last 30 days when hennie feathering is showing up big time. He is starting to look like his grandmother / mom except a lot larger. Change seems concentrated on body. Female side of same line also seems to molt twice in the fall where first featherset is a lot darker, even darker than the new feathers that replace them a month or two later. Same line also pretty consistent at showing eclipse molt.

Here are some pics of the bullstag. He will be less henly than I indicated above but will still be funky looking. He has no actual Hennie in him and I do not recall this look in BBR's before but might have seen it in some brown reds and redquills back in the 70's which are in his breeding. I did some reading that indicates heterozygotes do not exhibit the Hennie phenotype until that get their first cock feathering like this guy is doing now.
