Roosterhavoc very nice set up,what state are you in,can you winter in them. Up here in northern Pennsylvania I have to move every thing in for the winter. Put a new roof on this week,lost a few rafters last winter with all the snow

I'm in NJ. I'm gonna have to cover them completely at night to block the wind. Last winter was brutal. I sure as hell hope it isn't that bad this year. I get full sun during the day so no issues then. I'm still trying to decide what type of material I'm going to use. I've got over 100 birds they ain't coming in. Lol. Hopefully I can talk my wife into making hot oatmeal for each bird. Lol.

That's a good idea. How cold did it get where you are last winter?

Last winter had 20 below zero,froze all the combs off my roosters. Froze eggs solid in the nest boxes. Gave snow for water,cuz water just froze solid too.

Wow -20. Not that bad here. At one point it dropped to -9. But that wasn't sustained. The coldest daytime temp was around 15 or so. Still got plenty of frozen eggs though. The worst part is watering the birds. Absolute nightmare! Frozen hose 10 min outside with pitcher of hot water it's froze. I can't wait.

yeah we just say there are earthquakes to scare people, and keep them from moving to here. lol I havent felt a good earthquake in over a decade.
