Here's some birds fresh off the yard - literally i caught them off the yard a few minutes before taking these photos. I wasn't trying to get anything good, and it was getting late. So the photos don't do the birds justice, just showing a few people i told about them.
My favorite stag raised up this year, he's 1/2 shelton roundhead, 1/4 whitehackle 1/4 johnny jumper radio.
Here's my choice hen for him, i may even throw in a few more just as a variety, the sisters to this hen. She is 1/2 shelton 1/2 johnny jumper. The aunt to the stag.
Breast pattern of the stag, he and his brother both have this coloration. It started out as just specks, but as they age it tends to get more brown. By one year I'm expecting it to be solid brown.
.
These birds, and about 6 or more birds will be going to a local buddy of mines once i catch the others and handle them a bit to gentle them down. After i gentle them down some I'll get better photos as well.

God created them to lay eggs not to lay them and eat them so i prayed for them and it worked isnt that amazing!!!! 2 perfect eggs in a row plus she fixed up her nest reall nice.... is that a sign she might be going broody i replaced the egg with store ones!
Glad to hear she's laying well for you & not eating them any more! Hopefully she will set for ya! I have two that are laying machines but just wont set on them. They have both layed more than 20 eggs & not yet gone to setting on them!
Here are some pics of my what I bought as shamo chicks, again I only say bought as b/c I am not familiar with the breed or the seller. Ive got 20 of these chicks and will prob wheedle it down to 3 trios if they turn out nice? Made the mistake of separating them overnight b/c it was cold out and brought them into dog kennels in garage. Well the next time they got put back in my 6 x 10 run they got into each other pretty good. Luckily I was home and intervened. I dont think I will separate them again until I have to. I have no prior experience in sexing these guys? So tips are welcome?
