I feel a little guilty sitting in the house with the wood stove cranking. I had to single pen 1 of my leiper stags today. I had three stags and hen together in a brood pen. I watched them closely for awhile today after work. He wouldn't let one of the other stags eat and he kept pecking the hen pretty hard. Tough guy is in his own pen now, on the coldest night so far this year.

terrible pic with my phone. But I had 3 eagles and two hawks circling the birds today. The hawks were just out of the pic I guess

My neighbor called the other day while I was at work asking if I lost and chickens cause there was a hawk on their fence which is prolly 20' from my pens. I didn't but if he were to fly in from there the trajectory would have had him meeting the ground and elec fence at same time.

Lol the past few days the hawks have been terrible. Most of my free range chickens are survivors of numerous hawk attacks so they are pretty wise to their games. The eagles just look, only once did I have an eagle swoop in and looked more like a test run anyway.
