Another hawk attack today while we watched. Wife and I were trying to decide if big bird in tree was a crow or a hawk. It dove straight down and hit a hen. Rooster knocked him off,and crows chased it away. I retrieved hen had blood coming out of her mouth. Is up and walking now. They were in the lower soybean field in the wide open.

I bet that was pretty cool to watch. Sometime I root for the hawk cause I know they got to eat too. There are plenty of chickens and not enough hawks.. (at least in my area).

But that's why God made squirrels. But lazy hawks eat chicken,or try to LOL

You need to film that stuff. With mine, once a hawk gets hit it does not come back for quite some time and I never have camera at the ready.

Are your corded birds gonna be accessible to hawks and such?

I have a hoop greenhouse frame I was going to put pheasant netting over, 25'x100'. Put the barrels in there in2 rows. Do you think that will work?

Just by the numbers 8' of cord would be 16' wide so 2 wide 32' and a ill inbetween within 25' seems non doable unless I'm not getting it.

I have deer wire around the perimeter to keep a stray dog out. This is at my garden center property,not at home with my free range flock.

come up this way then we got plenty. We have have so many red tails they are dead all over the highways my guess is they chase pigeons areound the overpasses and get nailed by trucks. Either way I'm on the chickens team lol.
