Show Off Your Games!

Im so jealous of all these awesome birds. wish I had the room for some good gamefowl. A guy down the road is selling some beautiful Shamo birds. I for one admire the gameness of any animal. Ive owned and bred game dogs for yrs and WILL eventually add some good birds to the yard. For now im forced to stalk this page and admire(drool) everyones amazing birds.

Shamo are awesome fowl! But make sure they are good line if you decide to get some! Head over to the oriental game thread and read up on some and look to see what a good broodcock would look like. I have searched for good stock here in TX but no-one has any good stock! Just the nogame hatchery meat birds

Sprayed then yesterday for mites and saw that they have bloodfeathers coming in. I expect to see full tails after they are done with molt.
I still gotta get pics... One has a pea comb and the other straight...

How nice that these lovely birds are in your care and their needs are being met. Most likely they will develop into gorgeous birds, and will make you quite happy..

Okay this is game breed related, and I have asked on my thread but got no answers.

I have search and could find little to nothing of true Blue Hen of Delaware chickens, those not from thd University flock. From what research I have read that they came from a strain of OEGs. Ixwas thinking of taking Lemon Blue (I believe the correct name for that color) and Blue Andualusian. I am aaking ya'lls opinion on this because number one I never tried to recreate a breed... number two are these a good combo? And number three is it worth it?

i noticed all the breeds you have at the bottom. a project like you are talking would require a lot of time and pen space.

At least 1.5 yrs. per generation and a lot of culling. IMO if you just breed what's there you're gonna end up with a lot of useless birds. Especially in the gamefowl world.

trust mexwhen I say we dont mind fresh chicken in the freezer ;) any ideas? I really love breed (from what I read) and in MHO it would hurt the chicken world to los a breed with so much history.

it would be a small project at first because I am going to use the koney from my 4h stuff at first. later on I am hoping to expand it.
