Cool.. Too bad you couldnt have had more chicks from the first hatching, I bet you would have got a rooster without a top knot.. could of bred that one back to mother which would guarentee no top knot.

I know would have been nice but he died on me back in fall. Came backk from deer hunting one morning and found him lifelless. He was blind in one eye and not good to sell but he was mean would bite me every time I would open the pen. I think he hated my red pjs pants cuz the rooster that took his eye at my aunts house was red.

Is the black marks on his comb from frostbite? or just scabs? Almost time to dub him.

they're scabs. Ill try to dub him the middle of next month... all the red roosters in my flock start in this color yet end more brown red.
