They good eating too. The ones inland not so much towards the gulf. Kinda like the difference between a woodduck and a merganser. Ain't much u can't eat round here though.

some years I have thousands of snow geese on the farmers fields right down the street from me. I would try to hunt them but for no rhyme or reason they just switch fields every day. Never know which field they're gonna be on. The first time i set up a ton of decoys and they landed on the other side of the road I would lose my mind lol. I like Canada goose, never had snow geese although heard they weren't very good. I have a merganser in the freezer, it's yours if u want it lol

Just pointing out that besides the original poster, everyone is a guest to the thread.  If unhappy with the thread move on or create one, that is the cool thing about a forum.  But jumping on a thread where many have been investing time into it for years and trying to tell people what to do just makes you look .. well, "not so nice"  .  And your further posts just adds support of that view.  Me I could argue and send tells and whatever, but this is a chicken  thread on the internet, how intelligent would that make me look.. well I guess others don't care about that huh.  Have a nice day friends...

Haven't been on in a while so just popping in to say hi. I've been busy with a puppy someone threw in our yard that is hopefully gonna be an Australian Shepherd. Anyways I wish you guys up North the best of luck this winter.

I like the one white tail feather standing tall.. Also the feathers at the top of his head look like spikes... trace of toppy genetics?

Very good stance and body. Was he hatched earlier this year?

May of this year he was born. His sister & brother have top knots. This flock has alot of spangled colors

Then prairie chicken came in to essentially say that you can't just tell people to leave or do what you want just because you don't like what they were talking about especially if you didn't even start the thread.

wow you guys are great. Basically I was joking with centra but it doesn't matter. This is a thread on an Internet forum, relax its not that serious.
I will say though that if every post was about genetics this thread would have been dead a long time ago, especially since the people who started it rarely post in it anymore. This thread wouldn't be too interesting to the "majority" if everyone relied on the original posters to put up something interesting.

I see what you're saying. Everyone should be able to post what they want respectfully. I have followed this thread from the beginning and I have seen it take a life of it's own. I just have seen it before where Prairie Chicken just had to remind everyone who started this thread.....Really?

For all I know some of these experts could own about 5 chickens and act like they know the answer to everything chicken related. I don't know for sure nor do I really care. There's definately a certain few that fit that description.
I enjoy looking at others gamefowl, pens, chicks etc... Figuring out problems related to gamefowl housing and everything in between. It would be real easy to act like an Internet genius by quoting and linking a few articles here and there. Seems to me these few people rarely put up a pic of more than a few birds and only a pen or two, yet claim to have a bunch of birds. Yep I said it!

I'm with you on this Roosterhavoc. I have very little knowledge on genetics myself. I always say that the proof is in the product. Some people on here
know little about genetics and they breed some of the best birds I have ever seen. Then some throw out some fancy genetic talk and show birds that I wouldn't look twice at. It is boring. But if we don't like it we don't have to read it. The better breeder always creates the best birds.
