it's not impossible for a claret to have yellow legs because genetic pop out's can happen on rare occasion and then bred for ... but most apt over all these years something was added to get the yellow leg . Originally Col. Madigan's clarets (white & red) came with white legs black spurs)
I hope you have bred a line of clarets that are consistently white legged to be so insistent. The Griffin line always carries yellow/mustard legs with black spur and many American claret breeders prefer that line. Or maybe I'm "too old" and have seen too many lines in too many yards in too many countries to know. Fyi most Irish game lines carry white or mustard legs with black Spurs. A trate bred out in England so the birds looked more consistent but essentially the same bird. Though both strains were imported and named for the breeder or importer of the line they are all the same. Pheno type breeding is a cockers signature so the look of any one line can differ even with the same basic ancestory.

My brother's clarets are 100% pearl or white legs, back in the 80's he had another line that would throw a yellow leg occasionally but they didn't stay long. Griffins are both yellow and white legged.

Griffins come white and yellow legs (some black spur some not) all just according to what they put in them(the Griffins started with birds from Madigan and bred them their way). Even seen rare peacomb Griffins (lol) but Griffins Clarets come 99.8% straight comb ..... Griffins lived about 20 miles from me(good friends) ..... there were 3 of the Griffin brothers (Elmer , Bubba & Dale) Bubba & Elmer contributed a lot to our sport .

you are a lucky man to have first hand account of such quality cockers and their birds.
