ya broody hens are prone to mites, because they sit there without dust bathing as often..

I would use mite/lice powder if you have infestation.

Since were in the GF thread and not elsewhere I’m gonna say Permethrin is weak and overused. It has to be used constantly to kill and prevent them.
Seven dust, ivermectin and frontline (fipronil) works better.

I mix sevin dust into my wood shavings in my nest box.
