It’s really not hard to dub birds. Some have much bigger wattles that grow up high on their face. They can be frustrating as hell. Same with removing all the white on the earlobes.

Yeah he's right some have smaller faces that black I done few weeks back had the wattles up high on his. And some say pea combs are easier this and that I don't find that to be truthful most are but I'm sure havoc can agree some of them are almost as long as a SC and way thicker at the base.

I can understand dubbing a large comb and wattles but if the wattles are small why dub them?

I have no issues with big straight combs. It’s always the big thick pea combs. No issue really they’re just my least favorite to do.

Because I want to? I’m not about to get in a long winded discussion about why. If you don’t want to dub birds then don’t. It’s a showing standard for gamefowl and OEGB.

I know that dubbing is a requirement for showing cocks. I just thought you guys dubbed to prevent frostbite and so that the cocks wouldn’t be able to tear each other’s combs off if they started fighting.

There’s plenty of people that think dubbing should be illegal. It is not and that’s the end of it. Aside from the standard depending on how birds are kept it will obviously prevent frostbite. Mosquitoes can’t bite what isn’t there to spread fowl pox as easily. I do it because they flat out look better. Just like my dobermans ears and tail. All personal preference.
