If there’s a thread in BYC to ask this I’m sure it’s this one!! I have 8 liege fighters 10 weeks old. 7 of them look great but one stag (I’m assuming) I think is a cross with another game breed. I’m thinking asil due to the head profile. Any opinions?

Here’s one of the other stags that I’m positive is pure liege game for comparison.

Greenfire Farms isn't too far from me. My understanding is that the Liege was created by crossing whatever the Belgians had access too with large oriental gamefowl like Malays. So it wouldn't surprise me that a Leige would have aseel-looking traits at different points of development.

@Florida Bullfrog thanks! I knew they had oriental blood in them but I didn’t know if it showed that much. Pure or not, I’ll keep him around to see what he turns into.

My Wahls are continuing to develop nicely. They're 100% free range now. It took 2 weeks for them to catch up to the other free range birds in terms of agility and wing strength but they're keeping up well now.

This is an odd chick that its mother mostly abandoned after its first week or so. To my surprise, it has since thrived by itself. It free ranges over about 100 yard area. At night it usually goes into the coop and roosts with the layers but sometimes it roosts on its on outside. The first few times I'd try to catch it at night off the roost to move it to the coop its proven itself to be such a strong flier and runner (even when all it had was fuzz) that I'd end up cussing it and leaving it alone to die. But it never has. I can't put my finger on what makes it look so strange. Looking at these pictures I took this morning, I think I'm going to try to catch it one night and study its wings.

Ragnar's tail feathers are filling back in.

My mystery bird did have a nice, beautiful, tail that filled in quickly. Then after only a couple days of him free ranging my bulldog got a mouthful of them. So they'll have to fill back in. If you look close, you can see the sand gnats swarming him.

The Miner blue that MRN posted is a blue red sport. So if you bred blue reds, you would get blues, BBreds, and sports if i remember correctly. (It's been awhile.) A pyle to BBred-Or wheaten, would give them too much red and the blue wouldn't be anywhere i don't think, but i believe Chris is correct in them being a variation of Pyle.

Miner blues come in a wide variety of colors, as it's in their bloodline. These are just a few colors from a guy on another forum, not my birds -

(And these are only a few, he's posted at least two or more other variations i know of and I've seen more.)

Don't know if your still on here but these were my brothers and my Miner Blues.
