Thanks pedenes. Sorry to hear about what happened to your broodcock as well. At least you know how I must feel. I'm still very sad about it, but it's time to move on I guess. Like I said earlier I just hope his 2 stags have some of his great features. We both know how valuable a Broodcock can be, and at times we tend to think they are not replacable. I recieved my pair from a very good source as well. Have you had any luck with breeding the stags to the mom yet? Let me know b/c that will be my only choice unless I decide to purchase another pricey Sweater Brood. Sweaters are just awsome in station and thats about as much as I think I'm allowed to say on this thread.

All of mine are still in molt, 'cept the younger ones.

You might could try a Brother sister mating too Johnathan, i wouldn't raise very many just in case something does go wrong (IE bad traits), but sometimes breeding brother to sister one time and then back to the parents can make them the same or twice as good as the original brood. A lot of people discourage this breeding because of the risk, but it was proven to me awhile ago that it can work out. Just remember to use the best ones of the brothers/sisters.

back to their mom will be good but its not gonna be more like the cock because its going to be 1/4 cock 3/4 hen.. the closest will be brother and sister but its too risky.. either their health, station or ect will be bad.. but if you dont have any chance why not.. i heard many guys tried it with great success... Good luck.. looking forward to see some pics

I have heard of breeding brother and sister and then the offspring back to the parents ( in this case the mom ) that seems to get some of the best result for the original brood qualities. Or it can just be stag to mom and see what happens. I may cross my spanish Jerezano to the Sweater hen and see what results I get.
