I guess it comes down to what you are trying to do. If you raise them for the love of the breed and like a lot of variety mixes are great. If you plan on showing or working on your own line it's a lot easier to get back to pure when you start with pure stock. When I cross 1/2 & 1/2 with 1/2 & 1/2 I dont get much consistency in the 1st couple matings. But both look to be nice birds.

Thanks all ,the Hulsey is still a stag. Can't wait to see him as a cock bird. He ready has the orange brown color. Also have a pair of the light Pumpkin Hulsey .

Does anyone know where I can get lemon blue old english bantams?

I need a roo (and two more girls) to complement my current hen who is dark blue this year. I have no idea what she is but I think she looks like an old english or a delaware blue. ???????? Help me find some please.
