Show Off Your Games!

hey hey hey, i have a show splash rosecomb (true bantam), that was nice as can be to every living thing that wasnt mice or bugs, till a huge fighting cock attacked some chicks that werent either of theirs.. then the poor little guy went ll out in vain on the big thing, and seemed to just daze and confuse him with his tiny impotent fury, then it was just the rosecomb keeping the focus on himself and not the chicks the game wanted to eat. penning were the game could see the rosecomb care for the chicks, and seeing it got almost all the ladies attention instead of just trying to jump them, made the game seem to learn after little bit to do food call and that caring for the chicks and hens and trying to look out for them, got the to let him mate (otherwise my hens will turn on a roo, that tries to just take them, and its been bloody bad). so guess ment it is just sometimes the motivation maybe and the old saying that is used for dogs. the game roos will attack from were they can if it get in range, but the tiny rosecombs will fly after hawks and huge dogs to protect flock. its so cute! anyone have any good sweater, butcher, and or http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...com/albums/l518/sunvalleyseramas/P1060422.jpg ones with chicks? link address photo of dan grey lines curious of what kind the are if not just sweaters, as have hens like, and friend has rooster like, and bred them, and curious which ones coming out are all theirs. have few other types maybe mixed in from hens and possibly game roos.

Thanks, I really like the color of the hen and the stag both, but the stag is too long legged for my preferences, I have included some pics of some of my Toppies. Lynn

What do you all price 2 1/2 month old stags at? I have a few Gray X Red Kelso stags that are from great bloodlines, and was wondering if 20.00 each was a fair price.

Greybear23- love your toppy hens, kinda wish I had some of them

If from great blood, I would consider 20.00 a decent price. I sell 5-6 month old yard hatches (though good blood) for 15-20. But that is just because they're not what I'd consider breeding stock, unless you just want games that resemble games in every way except they maybe a mixture of lines.

My pure, or perhaps crossed breeding quality bird is around 50-75 a stag.

Thanx for the answer, they are yard hatches, but the gentleman's family I got the eggs from has had game birds for many years, so I would consider them to have "great blood".
He is also one of the only people I know of that has any Oak Grove Game's, but he only has a couple of hens

ETA: Looking into eventually getting some Montgomery Blue Travelers from ebay, what would a fair price be for 6 month old stags of these lines( sorry about all the q's)

All depends, I like 50-75 for young stags truthfully. It's not terribly cheap to my view, but it isn't too expensive either. Some people may like to charge a little more, around 100 or 150 and up. Just as a warning, Ebay may not be the best to get birds from, a lot of birds called game's are being passed around, but once you get them they're not a true game at all. To me, then those birds are worth a meal for the family or maybe sold at the flea market for 5-10 dollars as a "rooster."

There are still good breeders on Ebay (Lenny Wahl/flyingfrizzle, Will bender/Shamoman, etc.), but I would try to research the breeder before buying if possible.

Thanx for the response! I knew ebay wasn't the most reliable source for birds, but I really like the Montgomery Blues. Know of any reliable breeders?

old*cowboy :

Back when I played on ebay a bunch they would not allow sale of fowl, is it allowed now. Guy

Only thing you can sell on ebay is eggs far as I know.

I don't know many people with travellers, I did look up the montgomery's and found a named titled dogsaver26 on Oakridgegamefarm.net that had good looking birds. But, as to who they are and the quality of their fowl, I can't answer on that.
