You can get the DNA tested for sex - I know The Sheriff had her emu babies done. She had to send something from the shell and I can't remember what else. But it accurately sexed her Emus. That was years ago and my mind is gone.
Like a hawk!!! I have to have diapers made for him and he will be living inside with me. His brooder is HUGE so it has to stay in the basement. I think he is actually a she though. Supposedly you can tel by their head feathers but I haven't had a good look but it looks like. Girl. In that case the names to choose between are kalaya. Adina. Or Allira. Will she bond and imprint on me if there is another emu in her brooder or does she have to be alone? Like can the other emus stay in the same brooder or will she imprint on them?
She's your girl, she was bound to be a little metal!Oh, hey, also I finally have an update on Bean. Xrays came in, and sure enough, the ballbearing is in her gizzard. :/ However, the good news is that since it's relatively small and round, and made of an inert metal it can't hurt her in any way. So even if it never passes and just becomes a normal part of her crop grit, I guess it's just gonna have to be a little quirk of Bean's, that she's got a little metal inside her. Maybe we shoulda named her Slash instead.
