Show off your house ducks!

How is is sitting now. His balance is off. And he keeps leaning backwards. He won't take food or water. He had a worm or two yesterday... called vets, Nobody has an avian doctor till tomorrow. Emergency vet seems.... I can't think of the word.... extensive? It's $160 base line. They can't gaurentee anything, I feel it's a waste. And I can't really afford it I fear he won't make it through the night. One drop of what? The poly v sol? That's a children's vitamin correct? anything else you suggest? All I want to do is hold him close , is this a bad idea? And his growth seems comparable to the other two his age. As I'm writing this his peeping is slowing down.

Forgive me, I just don't understand why you feel it's a waste. My pets are my family, and I'd do anything to save them. Your duck obviously needs medical intervention, and at this rate I feel like he's going downhill fast. If you don't get him into the clinic I fear he may not make it.

If he matters that much to you, you should take him to the vet. If not I dont know how much you can do. Just listen to the fine folks of BYC.

Don't be ashamed, many of us cannot afford vet fees like that, or even ones half of that. Sick birds are almost always hypothermic, so keeping him warm should be you number one priority. How warm are his legs and feet?

I have an appointment for tomorrow at 940.it's base line is 85. I'd take him now, but without credit cards, and a tight budget.... I've only for 100$. Hope he makes it through the nite. What can I do to help
It will be cheaper, but will still probably be at least $125.
