Show off your house ducks!

I found out a weird food Misty likes last night... cupcake batter! I was making cupcakes and had just stuck them in the oven and was spooning the batter out of the bowl, she was begging so I let her try it expecting to see her fling it around the kitchen in disgust. But no, she ate it and begged for more. She doesn't like bread, baked cupcakes or any other "junk food" so it surprised me. Needless to say this wont be a frequent treat.

I've seen this documentary at least two times, one of my favorites!

It's my first time and I am looking forward to finishing it after work. I have learned so much in the 20 mins so far. And seeing all the cute ducks certainly is a bonus.

Poor Beanie...after her bath she got startled and accidentally tore out a brand new tail feather, root and all! Since the follicle came out there was very little bleeding, but it hurt her so bad she was shrieking for 30 seconds straight, I timed it. :/ Poor bubba duck.

In happier news, Operation Duck Integration had another step forward, I got the two eating side by side without any squabbles at all! I'm hoping that as she gets bigger I can get the two to bond to one another.

I know, I was so upset I didn't know what to do! She seems fine now, but nothing hurts a mama more than knowing her baby's in pain. ._. As for her and Wobs, I think the trick is to get 'em distracted with food, or get him when he's not in horny teenager mode so he doesn't instantly want to grab her.

I know how you feel. It is upsetting when that happens. You don't want any of your babies having pain.

So I just now finished watching that wonderful duck documentary you put up. And the female picks who she wants to mate with. Will that be the same with Wobbles and Bean? Is it a case of yes or no? Will she be sexually mature in 6 months or so?

Fascinating. I had no idea you could fix a male. I don't blame you at all if it comes to that. Neither you nor Beanie needs to experience the hormones. And not Wobbles, the hormones. He can't help it. Little sweet drake boy. Do males have testes internally where the testosterone is produced? I know they have a penis but wasn't sure about the rest. But hopefully the two littles will bond and you will have kiddos.
