Show off your house ducks!

That is funny. Hide her away so she doesn't wake up the whole house. I love that. She a quacker duck bird.

I had no idea that the webs went from pink to yellow due to sun exposure. Thanks for sharing that tidbit kukupecpec!!
She's a brat! But we love her. Now if we could just convince her not to try to eat the dog, I'd think we'd be golden lol.

Uhhhh...so, um, tonight during their daily bath, Wobbles tried to mount Bean. She didn't freak out, but she wasn't too thrilled either! How much longer do you think it'll be before she hits duckie puberty? I wonder if this'll be the litmus test!
I had this trouble with my geese. When we first got Pom for Trina they were to afraid of each other to even walk past each other lol. When they learned that the other wasn't going to hurt them, they slowly became tolerant of the other. Then Pom, being much older, started to mount and mate with Trina, but she wasn't even full SIZE yet, let alone full grown or laying. She didn't LET him at first, but eventually just kinda "went through the motions" until BAM. Breeding season. And they were madly in love. Pom was MASSIVE, and while geese are much sturdier than calls, I think Trina was still quite small, especially compared to Pom, and she was unharmed =) Hopefully it IS a good sign of love to come

Umm, please don't take this the wrong way because it has nothing to do with your housekeeping habits. They do that because they're looking for bits of stuff that might be good to eat. Ducks feel around at things with their bills, which is why they can find bits of edibles in a murky mud puddle where you couldn't possibly see anything in it or on the bottom.

My ducks never find any bits of things in my carpets.

HA! I had kinda guessed at that, but it's cool to have it really explained. We have tile... so ChaCha only digs outside. But I haven't noticed any actual holes... now I need to go search!

Mine have a favorite spot. It's a dime sized bald patch on my beautiful new carpets!

What naughty ducks! Although I must admit we don't have carpet because it's too much work for me haha tile is so much easier to keep clean. Even more so with our animal menagerie lol

Eeeee, she's a brat.  How cute of her. What's her size compared to the dog's?

She's about the same height as my MIL's dog, but he's definitely larger overall. ChaCha probably weighs more than my little dog, but Rogue's still a little underweight. ChaCha towers over her with her big long neck and poor RoRo just runs away lol

Of course I have no pictures of them anywhere near each other because no animal in my house can get along with any other animal :barnie

I have one picture of Snoopy and ChaCha on opposite sides of the bed with my feet between them, but I can't find it. And it only lasted about 15 minutes lol

Awh guys..these babies are too much! I love reading about all their cute antics..Mine love to fiddle around in the carpet.. we have this small rug with longer strands that they love to just go at.. luckily they haven't destroyed it by now. lol Though their favorite thing to go after is my hair... could be that it's untidy to their standards and they want to fix it.. oh.. and .. weird thing. so cookie.. the girl.. went crazy trying to jump on me, so i stuck my arms in, she jumped up on them then grabbed my finger in her mouth and just kept it there. It seemed a mating thing but I have no idea as shes a girl.. or so I thought..,.. these two have switched up genders on me so many times, I'm beginning to think they are worms. x(

I have one that is confused. Thought I had 2 girls. They went out for a bath & one got in the water & settled all the way down in. It was about 109 with the humidity & I thought ahhh she's enjoying the cool water. The other one just climbed on top & started going to town! The 1st one had just started laying & the 2nd one started a few days after that. Confused. Lol

Females often mount one another as a power play, don't worry about it. It's eyebrow-raising, but normal behavior. :p

That's what I discovered after reading. It was driving me crazy. It quacks and no curl. I haven't seen her doing it since she started laying. Thought I had a gay duck. Lol I'm going to look at a drake this evening.
