Yeah, I think it really depends a lot on the particular animal--dog, duck, cat, whatever. One of my little 2015 drakes is very assertive. Not a bully or anything like that, but he doesn't tolerate any pushing around. The first time he was in a spot where his group and the adults could make contact, one of the adult drakes approached him, and I could tell that drake was about to make trouble even though I can't say how I knew it. The little drake knew it too, because he looked up from his foraging, stared at the adult for a few seconds like, "I KNOW you are not about to start with me!" put his head down and started running at the adult. That settled that very quickly, and with no injuries other than probably a very bruised ego for the adult.

Ho boy...sounds like a miniature Wobbles to me.

Awe,  I am sorry to hear about your difficulties.  You are managing really the best you can.  I am glad you have JoJo in the house.  How's he doing?

Its hard but I think he's gonna be OK, Im over thinking he's gonna get sick like charlie. But I won't let him in the basement, bc if solitude and I front know why charlie went sick so just waiting on his diaper. I don't know if hell like it at first but, he will love being able to wander our house and not be secluded!!! I can't wait!!!!

Mouth has dropped open. Shockingly speechless. He is the epitome of duck, of call duck, of maleness of call duck. I am sure that nobody notices his round body, round head, puff cheeks, little bill, webs. Am I the only one who sees this?

Also @kukupecpec , I gotta order those swimming harnesses...we're having a squall up here, raining cats and dogs, thunder an' everything, and the darn ducks refused to come back inside! I spent ten minutes using a combo of peas and brute force (aka running them down in my slippers and sweats and getting thoroughly soaked in the process) in order to get them back in the house! Bean's never experienced real rain before, so I think I've created a monster. "No mommy, I want another shower!"

Yeah, it's monsoons here so our yard (and ChaCha's run) is totally flooded every other day. When it storms I'm always running around making sure all the animals are ok and protected (crazy wind storms are killing my efforts) and then there's ChaCha... dancing in the rain, LOVING LIFE. She was actually SWIMMING in the flood the other day! They do love their rain lol. But yes! I can make you some swimming harnesses.
Have you checked online for small leash claps? Or did you find good jewelery ones?
