Show off your house ducks!

That's what I was hoping on! I like these vests you make! As it is, I would have been able to convince anyone that Daisy was great for therapy, but Dandy...not so much. She's not mean, just cranky & not as cuddly as Daisy was.
That might change as she gets older but for now, I couldn't pass this off as the type of duck I'd trust kids & elderly to try to snuggle with

You're not kidding, the personalities have always amazed me on every living thing. I had pet snails as a kid. When you notice personalities in those things, you know you're paying too much attention to characteristics

It might be a drake thing. Wobbles is a lot less affectionate than Bean. But he'll tolerate my hourly snorgles all the same!

You need the tag to say emotional support animal. Read up. They can go most anywhere and they can't question you.

Unfortunately, that's not true...believe me, I researched this up and down for my own ducks and emotional support or therapy animals have ZERO rights in accordance with the ADA. The law only applies to ASSISTANCE animals, as in dogs, monkeys, and horses that are explicitly trained to perform actions for their owners that they physically cannot.

See, that's what my big worry was when I started thinking male but then I'm being told that the males tend to be more lovey than the female from other Muscovy owners so I guess it's just luck of the draw?
Either way, I know it was wrong to hope for "another" Daisy type but I guess it is what it is

I know you did, sweetie. :/ I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hoping Bean would have been another Milkshake. She was such a dynamo! But yes, all ducks are vastly different. Heck, Wobbles and Bean could not be more diametrically opposed, LOL! He's a pushy, fearless, clumsy jerk, she's demure, anxious and a total sweetheart.

Scovy you are the only other person I've heard of with pet snails. Besides me and my cousin. We had races. If you put your ear up to a quart jar containing them and a piece of cabbage you could hear them crunch. Last few times I looked I didn't find any. All I have are slugs. Yum to the ducks.

I had a snail, too! I named him Philip. I was 7. I still call all snails "Philips". 'Cuz, well...they're hermaphroditic so they breed with whomever they want, and you never know, any snail I see could be the great-great-great-great( X500) grandson of my Phil!

Yep! We have to explain this to people when we take our dogs & cats to therapy visits. They ask all sorts of things from thinking they can fly for free to they can go into anywhere. Now, if you ARE certified to have an assistance animal & you go into an establishment they do not have the right to ask why you need the animal's assistance. If asked, you have the right to tell them,"Nunya"

It's not that difficult apparently. A friend's ex takes his dog literally everywhere. It's a border collie. Yup he has the support card. He doesn't go into food places even though he could.

I find that kind of behavior extremely distasteful because nit only are they skirting the law, but they're exploiting businesses who don't understand the law, and making life difficult by feeding the already pervasive distrust of disabled people who legitimately need assistance animals. Because of all these fakers with untrained running around and being disruptive in places of business, people tend to treat the disabled with scorn when they try to bring their own animals into those same establishments.
