Show off your house ducks!

Not a problem, in a heart beat. Just set me up with a round trip ticket departing on the Saturday morning of your choice and returning the next Sunday evening (so I don't miss work) plus transportation from and to the airport in time for the flights or a rental car and I am there! Bam! No question! For you any day

* Of course you could probably get professional help near you for far less than that even though I wouldn't charge you a penny.

Looks like a full Muscovy to me

That's what we thought!! I took him out to a friends farm so he could interact with other ducks and I was told that he is most likely an aylesbury cross Muscovy because in Australia, specifically in Toowoomba (where we live) it is common to find this combo of interbreeding species. But if I was not told that I would of picked him for a full Muscovy.
When he was identified by my friend he was only just getting his full winter coat through and he looked much rounder but as he has gotten older he has slimmed out and his face has become more 'Muscovy like'

HaHa, Well.... I went to visit my sister in SC and while I was there I had the opportunity to visit a very nice couple who were in the general vicinity (you have to realize that in Montana, the next city over is 100 miles away from whatever city you are in so our idea of general vicinity is a bit larger than some). They had two Muscovy drakes, Ernie and Opie and several Muscovy ducks (I can't remember all of their names). They also have some geese and we had kind of planned to spend most of our "flock" time with them, but Opie was such a character that he completely stole the show. Here is a brief vid with Opie: We had a really wonderful time and were plied with great southern hospitality. There was hardly any language barrier at all :gig . I really wish we lived closer, I would love them to be able to meet our flock and return their hospitality plus we are already suffering from Opie withdrawl. Shhh... Don't tell anyone, but the lady is a prominent member here on BYC, and her DH is a great guy... .
Ha! Oh duckies, they re so funny! My goosey had a thing for shoes, but I've heard most fowl grow out of their shoe chewing. What a cute ducky!

So today was my baby girl Daisy's birthday. She's been gone for about a year & I miss her dearly.
I have been watching her home videos & figured I would share...or bore you,

Never ever a bore! Daisy was so adorable! I saw her video begging for goldfish and that's actually how I discovered this thread! So you can take responsibility for bringing me here (whether good or bad for the rest of ya LOL)

Finished up a Belle costume today! Lots more to go but having way too much fun in the process LOL

Awwww OMGG that belle costume!!! I definitely want as soon as our funds get back to where they should be...I've been MIA for a while due to work and schoo land bratty babies that don't want to listen. I don't think I've ever experienced an animal that shows grudges so expressively as these two... If I do even one thing out of the ordinary they hold it against me all day.. But oh how I love them dearly.. I can't believe how attached I am to these two angels. On a side note, @kukupecpec, I lovee love loveeeeeee these new diapers and accessories! I will post a pic soon, I've missed this forum tons!

I read most of the previous posts, couldn't go too far back, but I lovedd seeing all the pictures!!

I also need to order, like, ALL the diapers. Grumble. Also Sammi, I need help with my halloween duck costumes, it's a nightmare!!

Also, in stranger news, Bean has taken a liking to a small plushie I keep on my keychain. She head bobs at it the same way she does at me, the super happy sideways one when she's excited and showing affection. Heck if I know why. Ducks are weird.

Awahh Bean!!! Has she started laying yet? I am still so anxiously waiting to see what those little gems would look like. Thats cute shes showing you affection. Cupcake yells at me all the time now unless im cuddling him. What are we going to do with these cute little feathered babies? I swear when we move, my house wil be a duck haven... complete with that indoor that goes to outdoor pool... hahahaha

No, she's not laying yet! I'm losing patience, I don't want to wait until Spring! :p Although maybe it's best that she takes her time, Wobbles still hasn't gotten anywhere close to figuring out this mating thing. I wish he were still as sweet as he was in that "feathered puppy" video...he still loves to spend time with me, but he won't sit still to have his head scratched! Once in a blue moon he'll let me, but I have to catch him first. Guess my lil' man outgrew his mama, ha!

LOL. Amy, as Gru said (don't know if you like Minions), "Hold the horses!" Don't forget Calls are seasonal layers. In your area, Bean might not start laying until around early-mid February. That will probably give Wobbles time to figure out the mating thing.

They ARE indoor ducks, though. Since they're used to artificial light and heat they don't really experience seasons, you know? So I was hoping she'd start laying soon. As I type this she's standing on the keyboard, hehe.
