Show off your lead hen! :)

Wonder if it's taurine they are referring to?

I feed mine cheap dog kibble that's soaked in water several times a week, since the supply of fresh bugs has all but disappeared with the cooler weather. Cheap dog food is mostly made up of grains and such anyway, and does not contain taurine.
Hmm, I don't know if I believe this "No cat food" Stuff, I talked to two people who are very smart and they say that cat food makes them better.

I agree that the dog and cat food is not the greatest thing to give chickens especially on a routine basis. If you are looking to boost protein, I would go with things like high protein feeds, mealworms, eggs, fish (unsalted type) and even BOSS. Too much salt can cause circulatory collapse (high heart rate and hypotension) as well as brain damage.

Well, I think that this argument is pointless, you should just do what you think is right. If feeding your chickens cat food has made them better, then continue. But if you don't think it is good for them, then don't! Simple!

My chicken healed and even grew the head feathers that I thought would NEVER grow back!
