Show off your Old English Game Bantams!!

Well I would like to share a pair I just got a couple of weeks ago. They are of course OEGB Silver Duckwings, going by the name of Samuel and Mary Jane. I hope to acquire a number of nice chicks from these two in the spring. They placed quite high in a local county fair exhibit, one of the better bird shows in the upper part of the state. I am tickled to have them on the place and adding their charm to our day. Best to all and your birds, RJ
Those are good looking birds. Should produce nicely for you.

Hatched several of these little lemon blue splash pullets this year. Could tell they were nice early on, but they are really turning into beautiful little ladies.

Well thank you joshes, I am new to better quality birds and what they are or are not supposed to look like. But I am enjoying them, even if they throw mutts. I am just a big fan of Old English. I think them a most beautiful creature.

Best to you and your birds,

RJ

Edit: Your nice pullet looks charming, you have birds that I did not know about. Very interesting…

We call him Samuel… any obvious faults in him?

I breed OEGB in blacks, whites, lemon blues (which throw splash and lemon blacks as well), blue brassies (which throw brassies and sports), and brown reds. Also have golden sebrights and a number of large fowl. It's hard to judge a bird by a photo, but I don't see anything glaring. He should throw some nice chicks for you to work with. I raise very few birds that I can't find something that makes them less than perfect. I suspect it's that way for most people.

Anyone interested in a trio of Old English game bantams?

They were a project of mine (attempting to breed toward cuckoo), but unfortunately, I no longer have the space for them. The rooster is the sweetest thing toward people, I chose to keep him especially for that trait, but fiercely protective of his hens, who are sweet, and quite docile.

I'm hoping they go to someone who will enjoy them, which is why I am posting them here, as well as CL.

I am asking $30 for the trio. Please PM me, but ONLY if you live in CALIFORNIA. I cannot ship.

Has anyone ever had problems with a hen going broody and simultaneously turning into a complete nut job? My Rowan has decided she must murder the cats, the drake, the rooster, and the dogs, all while showing off her new ability to crow. I feel like I'm in the chicken twilight zone. -_-

Yep, I've had that happen before. It can be extremely frustrating, but I kind of prefer that attitude over a hen who is easily pushed around while broody. It tells me she will do anything to protect her chicks once they have hatched.

Here is my sweet beautiful girl, Gertrude... I am trying to find her a Roo and some other hens if you know where I might find some let me know please. I love your Roo!! HANDSOME fella!
