She's been fine with me all along. I even dragged the chicks out from under her to look at them all. She's only bitchy to Harriet, and now that Harriet's 4 are running around on their own, Harriet is stalking Maggie like Maggie did her! Crazy sisters.

Bitchy momma Maggie hatched all 7 yesterday

How cute!!! Momma chickens are supposed to be bitchy. Lol. What kind are they?? I'm glad she hatched them all!! I got six out of my incubator this morning. (Buff Orpington) and hoping to get a few bantams out of there tomorrow. Idk what kind they will be, they're a 'suprise hatch'

So, I'm starting to think that maybe one of my roosters isn't a rooster... Maybe one just isn't developing as fast as the other, it has very small wattles and spurs. But it makes more of a hen noise and I've never heard it crow (May have just missed him every time, but idk), and it's even tinier than the one I know is a rooster. I'm so confused. Everyone I ask is about 50/50 on hen or rooster. I know this isn't the right forum or whatever, but you guys already know my little rooster

All OEGBs, I think I had 3 or 4 pure silver duckwing eggs in there, the other chicks are SDW daddy, but mixed color mommies. Have to get a better look at the chicks to tell for sure.

Now I also have a bantam cuckoo cochin on 3 of her own eggs, full bantam cochin, 3 choc orp / cochin mixes and a silkie/cochin mixed egg.

I have a choc orp on 6 SDW OEGB eggs

I have a lavender orpington on her flock's eggs

Oh and a golden coment on her flock's egg

all due in the next 10-12 days

This guy has a date with the dubbing shears and if he molts out ok, I'm going to show him in the fall.

Thanks. The SDWs are my favorite. I'm slowly getting rid of my mixes and going to all SDW. Might do another pen of self blues eventually though.

I still can't decide about that "rooster" of yours either. One pic looks rooster-ish, one looks hen-ish. That last pic of them facing opposite directions, the one in front definitely looks like a she.

It wasn't big enough in the fall last year for me to dub him, so he's got to keep it a while. I don't like combs on game, but you're right, it's a nice one. Thanks.
