Show off your Old English Game Bantams!!

Boldest of the bunch, my little Oegb chicks have been the front runners in today's adventure. A flooded basement quickly prompted a move out of the sopping wet brooder and into the new coop and of course that means a test drive in the run while the weather holds.

Look at all this babies running around. Breath of fresh air.

I can't remember, have you shown us your blue brassy back?

I have, but here she is

Well shoot, all my Oegbs are developing black breast feathers. Boys all 3. Better get a bigger box ready for Craigslist as that leaves my flock ever so smaller. Makes me want to drive to the hatchery and pick out a handful with nice dark eyeliner and give these back.

Is it true that Old English chickens are mean? Or !maybe just hard to have in a flock? The guy at the feed store told me that. I never bought any..

From my experience, the girls are on the shy and sweet spectrum while the boys are bold and troublemakers. I haven't had any reach maturity, but I never had much in the way of aggression with any of them, though I do a lot of handling from day one.

I'm sure others here can tell you more about their experiences.
