Show off your Old English Game Bantams!!

Thanks. I got baby girl a couple of young silver duck wing cockerels yesterday so she would get her mind off of the box of dead biddies. They're beautiful. Just wish I coulda got my splash line going :/

Ordered 10 splash OE from cackle.... They BAKED them on the way to the post office!! These babies were in a box that my three year old's flip flops couldn't fit in with a (huge) heating pad taped to the side and bottom inside another box with my layers in 100 degree weather. They were ALL dead. Even the extra one they sent. Then told me I would have to BUY five more for them to reship them... I did get my money refunded, but I wanted the birds. My baby girl has been traumatized and never wants me to order chickens again. I will never use cackle again.

 heating pad in AL in June??? :th

So sorry she had to see that.

If you're planning on showing (and you may not be) or if you want really pretty game, I'd suggest you stay away from hatchery birds. Buy adults or young adults from a breeder (I'm sure there are plenty in AL). It will be much easier to set a line that is consistent that way. All hatcheries care about is quantity, and unfortunately, quality goes to the wayside. They always seem to wind up too big, mainly because the better bred birds don't lay as well. Find someone who has really good blues, and you'll get quality splash that way.

Not really wanting to show, but I do want my birds to be quality. I am really going to stay away from hatcheries.... I don't really know of any breeders, but I'm sure I can find one. I have one blue cockerel. I will try to find more blue. I'm also wanting to try to bring the crele out in my little mixed roo.
After traumatizing my daughter I will never make that mistake again
