Here are a couple pictures of my cages or cage that my wife and I are building and we are never finished. This photo as you can see is under construction. We have about about 1800 square feet done and 2 levels, this is in the middle of the Mojave Desert and on the side of a mountain. We have 10 acres and do not have 2 acres of flat land in the whole place. Building on the side of a moutain is very trying and time consuming and we have major predator issues which we did not know we had until the birds came to live here. We have lived in the desert over 30 years, never saw a bobcat except when I was trapping. Relocated 8 of them over the last couple years. Coyotes by the dozens, even had a black bear come through, so my point is everything is concreted into the side of the mountain. If you look closely you can see at the picture inside the pen you will see they have cooling. Cooling is the biggest issue in the desert. Would love to have the flat land to build long pens. We also have the very strong winds out here, so roofs and really the whole thing has to be solid and anchored, it has snowed here and collapsed one roof. Our cages are built out of mostly recyables.

This one just to give an idea on what the terrain is here. It looks messy though during construction. Notice no green really.
