rhode island brown are a cross between a rhode island red and rhode island white this is a true rhode island brown and these look like they fit the part to me,sometimes they are called a RSL but this is sometimes a cross between a rhode island red and a new Hampshire red.Thank you cmom and TeaChick! We bought them when they were a few days old from TSC. I understand that many places sell them as "Isa Browns" but use that as a generic term and they aren't true Isa Browns. I asked TSC they said they were told Isa Browns and thats all they knew. Any thoughts on how we will know what they are truly a mix of? Not that it really matters, these babies are so sweet. So far 4 of 6 are getting to big huge babies that enjoy being held on my lap. They literally fly up out of their pen when i raise the screen to sit on my lap or tuck under my arm. My husband laughs at the sight.![]()
Thats a great looking Red sex link you have there she looks almost like a Rhode Island Red hen.
