She's my friendliest chicken!

She is nice looking! Very healthy looking. They are sweet aren't they. My Reba is my friendliest. She has to jump right up on the outside roost when I'm in the run, and she will follow me into the coop, jump up on a roost there, just so she can be near my face. I'm thinking I need to get a picture of her up close like that..with her face in mine..somehow? She is a sweet heart. Had a leghorn that I also just loved. Sadly, she didn't make it through this years winter. It has been colder, more wet than it has been for years! In the minus, single digits too long of periods. My chickens were staying pretty much in the coop for a while where I have a heated lamp. Those of you...ahem...in California...are probably enjoying the weather. Well, I like to say, March is almost here..that's when it starts warming up. Wow, will we have a lot of water around our place when all of that melts! Can't wait to let my girls out to free range again.

I started my flock with these ladies and now have some jersey giants and silver laced wyandottes.

Wow, you must have been getting a lot of eggs! Love it. So how do you like the wyondottes? That was my first broody hen, and that's what started me into the hatching eggs...a lot! Sex links aren't known to be broodys for sure. But I've heard that they can be. Anyone here ever have that happen? In all the years. That I've had them, I haven't had that happen yet.

Yes, I do get alot of eggs, about 1&1/2 dz a day. But lost some birds since this pic was taken due to a hawk. Thats whenI added the wyandottes and a few Jersey giants. I love the wynadottes the are very gentle and lay well. I haven't had any of my sexlings go broody. Right now I have some Wyandotte and Jersey giant eggs in my incubator (total of 24) due on or about 3/8.
