I love my birds and try to hold each of them each day and hand feed them as often as possible for them not to be afraid of me....

The way to a chicken's heart is through it's stomach... When my birds see the treat bucket they are all of my best friends.

Hello neighbor! I live in Spanish Fork Utah. I also feed my girls from my hand. I love them. :)

i have little bit problem
i have 5 cockerels an 1 pullet (they are 3 months old). sometimes i just frustrated with the cockerel, they are verry noice, attactive and sometimes broke the nest, and one day maybe i need one more again 1 pullet, i took a cornish X pullet, she is one month old, and imagine what, all the cockerel attack the cornish X untill she got little injured in her head, but i'm proud she still eat food enough (cornish X typical). and now, she separated from them, hopefully when she adult, the cockerel acccept her.
(sorry form my bad english)

Welcome! Hope your little one comes around. I am keeping my first rooster ever. I'm a little worried. Have heard of not so nice roosters, and that some are sweet roosters. I can't keep a mean rooster, I am crossing my fingers that he is sweet. He is just a cockerel for now, hasn't even crowed yet. He has a sweet face, but I know that doesn't mean he will be nice. I hope he will be. :)

I have had many roosters over the years. I love them all. I had one that wasn't nice. I did finally get through to him that I was the alpha but that didn't pertain to other people. He finally went to an auction. Don't know if he was going to be a breeder or eaten.

That's sounds good cmom, only one mean boy out of all the ones you've had through the years. Hope I luck out.

I was told that sex links don't go broody very often. Here is my red sex link hen with 4 silkie chicks. This is her third time in less than a year.

You are lucky because most RSL's aren't prone to be broody. I have a Rose Comb Rhode Island White that is a serious broody. I gave her some eggs and she also stole some. I put 8 eggs under her but the last time I checked under her she had 13 eggs. I am not going to bother her. The eggs I put under her should start hatching on March 2nd. As soon as she vacates the nest box if there are any more eggs under her that haven't hatched I'll candle and if they look good I'll put them in one of my hatchers.
