Show off your Red sex-links!! [[pictures included]] !! (:

Little Easter Egger spent all night yelling at the top of her little lungs, poor thing sounded miserable, probably hungry. I weighed everyone again today and all the other chicks had gained weight, she had lost weight and the beak looked worse every day. She also seemed to have lost the ability to open and close the beak. Needless to say she went to chickie heaven this morning, I've slaughtered a few ducks and a chicken as part of my culinary training but I hadn't ever culled a chick. I feel relieved and actually very OK about the decision.

Sorry to distract from the RSL-ish-ness of this thread with my sad little easter egger saga, please go back to your regularly scheduled programming

If my (hopefully NOT a rooster) RSL sprouts any ginger feathers you'll be the first to know!

So sorry about your loss. It was probably the best so it wouldn't have to suffer. I'm sure it wasn't able to get enough to eat. It isn't easy loosing a bird even a chickie...

I've never noticed this thread before! Here are some I got two weeks ago:

These are little ones I just got today. If anyone can tell what they are, that'd be great, but I know it's

This is Chocolate. She's scratching. She's the darkest of the Golden Comets I got two years ago.

This is either Caramel or Chocolate. She's in the nest box, probably just laying, but she was in there a while.

This is them when they were much younger. The white ones are WL pullets.

Here are Chocolate on the left, Caramel on the right, and Goldie in the background.

This is Sandy. I've got to crop this pic; I hate that it's vertical. Anyway, she's the lightest one of my Red Sex-Links.

So, what does anyone think?

I think that they are all gorgeous. Your Chocolate looks like my Paprika.

thats how gloria started. they start out almost completely white except for the head, and then feathers start changing to red. good luck w/ your cutie!:love

There's hope! Her white feathers are slowly going from bright white to a very light apricot color. Does that sound about right? I think I have a pullet!
