Is he by himself or with others? Maybe he has a leg or spinal problem was he like that when you got him?I've noticed he doesn't eat a lot alone he will peck few times and lay down doesn't drink much water. But when I feed him by hand and put cup of water up to him. He eats way more and drinks a lot of water. Almost to where I am walking up to him and starts making a noise when I bring him food it's so funny like he's excited

He's with the others. I went out there he jumped down fine ate a bit with the others and back up to the roost with another one. It's raining here so I'm sure that makes some not want to come out? But from what I remember when I got them they would come out follow the rest and lay down. He has always seemed a bit lazy but he eats and drinks he looks really alert.
Some chickens I guess are lazy I've never had one that laid around allot I had one that would stand around but I think he had leg mites really bad so by the time I got him and treated them they had already messed his legs up to much. He's with the others. ya they'll have one wing extended and will lay on one side and bathe in the dirt.He leans to one side when he lays? With his wing like on its side I don't know if that makes sense. I've grabbed him and touch his feet to see if it hurts doesn't seem like it.

Yes sir it could be!I checked him doesn't seem to have mites anymore. One question, is it possible one of the others could be beating him to much making him weak? I have 5 of them in one coop and the other 3 in another. In the 5 there's another rooster it's really obvious and I was outside and heard a cry and looked saw him pecking the smallest on the head and he wasn't doing anything but taking it. Could it be he's been doing this for a while and I haven't noticed. Can that be killing him slowly. And I've noticed he chases the others as well. Could that rooster be bullying them all. I'm thinking separating to see if the smallest jumps back up from not getting beat. I put the small one on my lap and sit he seems so calm and awake stands up lays down eats.
