Show off your roosters

Yes I have brother as well. One we handled all the time the other not as much. We had to do this ourselves even though he wasn't aggressive he was super skittish. We use leg bands to tell our twins apart lol

i have wanted leg bands for a while, but how do i tell which band to put on which chicken? the only reason one trusts me more is because it gets splinters all the time and i have to turn him upside down and pull it out.

They have different sizes. I ordered all different sizes because we are hatching. Recently I purchased the colorful zip ties and I think I'm liking these better. :) they are adjustable no matter the size of the chicken. :)

Small zip ties work great! Come in lots of colors. I use different colors and take pics as they grow, and the colors help me watch certain traits on particular birds. Especially the breeds that look so much alike!

Another thing to try with the one you can't catch is just to walk normally when you are near him. Walk straight at him and make him move for you. Do not move around him. You own him. Not vice versa.

Words of wisdom from the Crocodile Dundee of poultry! ;)

you sure can. Id love to hear how yours are doing also!:)

I'll make sure to update. Right now I still have them with my grown hens. For they were in a temp coop alone but this week our temps are supposed to be close to 107 degrees. I wanted them to be able to get cool in the big coop. Hopefully it will be cooler next week. My husband and I talked and as soon as they get a little bigger we are going to let the extras free range our property. We have wild guineas in our neighborhood. A whole flock. Nothing bothers them lol. I figure our roosters should be ok in our yard as long as we lock them up at night.. :)
