We love them, especially when they are so nice. Have more coming along, including Cornelius the Welsummer. (Not very original but my husbands idea) He is still young but definitely the ruler of the Wellies.

Rooster question - Our one Black Cochin Bantam has stopped crowing. He is about 8 months old now. His fellow Black Cochin Bantam roo has not stopped. We were wondering if it may have something to do with our much younger Welsummers and Marans are starting to crow. We cannot think of any other reason. Before the babies started, every morning, Barney would crow, followed by Houdini and than Colonel. This would go on for awhile each morning but now that the Welsummer and Marans have joined the chorus, Houdini does not crow. Could that possibly be the reason for his silence?
