Show off your roosters

With all my roosters and everyone else's roosters around me, I have to stop and listen for them now. And there's quite a few roosters where I am. If I stop and listen, I can hear them from what sounds like a ways away into the woods.

That's cool. Maybe I will start a trend in my neighborhood? There is already a neighbor with screeching peacocks. I think roosters sound much better than peacocks.

You get very much used to the sound of a rooster crow. In the morning if I stand outside my house and listen sometimes I can hear one crow, but I wouldn't ever hear it if I weren't listening for it. My barn isn't that far from my house. My hearing isn't the best though. Now if I am in the barn that is a different story.

This is Dodger. He was supposed to be a black copper maran. Clearly he isn't! I'm wondering if he has somehow carried the cuckoo maran gene?
